Rancho Mirage, California

This is a resort city in the county of Riverside, in California (United States). In 2010, the census showed that the population was at 17,218, which was only at 13,249 during the 2000 census. However, their seasonal population usually exceeds 20,000. It can be found between Palm Desert and the well known Cathedral City, and Tangcho Mirage was among the nine cities in the Coachella Valley or rather the Palm Springs area. Incorporated in 1973, in a merger from Mirage Cove along with five other unincorporated areas, which are know as the ‘Cove Communities’, these include Palmas, Desert Magnesia, Thunderbird, and Tamarisk, which had at that time 3,000 residents. Rancho Mirage was the home of the 38th President of the United States, who died in 2006 at home in Rancho Mirage, Caliornia. It was also the home of Jane Wyman, who also died at her home a year later.

A little history takes you back to the 1920’s and 30’s which was the time period of the beginning of the first modern settlements, and Rancho Mirage recieved its claim to fame once World War II ended. Walter and Leonore Annenberg (philanthropists) owned the Annenberg Estates, also

referred to as the “Sunnylands,” which was a popular place to the wealthy and powerul, including Bob Hope, Frank Sinatra, Patrick Macnee, Ginger Rogers, and Mary Martin. Many diferent Presidents of the United States had vacationed there, this includes Ronald Reagan, and Richard Nixon. Rancho Mirage is the home of the Betty Ford Center (the world renowned rehabilitation center for various additions) and it is located at the Eisenhower Medical Center. President Barack Obama has even held summit meetings with the leaders of the world at the Sunnylands, during his administration.

There are approxaimately 13 diferent golf courses here, which are also referred to as country clubs and golf resorts. The first resort for this city was the Thunderbird Guest Ranch which opened back in 1946, mostly or business clientele and entertainers. You can find the Agua Caliente Casino here too, it is located at the intersection of Ramon Road and Bob Hope Drive just off interstate 10, it first opened in 2002. This is one of the popular destinations for tourist, gambling enthusiasts, and the locals. The Agua Caliente resort completed their expansion which consists of a sixteen-story hotel, including a spa and the remodeling of their casino. They also expanded on the structure of the parking. In 2009, they even opened a theater which features top named entertainers. The New York Post made a Statement in regards to the First Family heading west, and that apparently the Obamas has been reported to have brought a house for themself in Rancho Mirage, California. There will be a new residential development opening in 2020 that will be exclusively for senior citizens. The new development will be named “Del Webb Rancho Mirage and by Pulte Homes, Inc.
